Red Wine Bric Barbera – Vipava Valley, Slovenia

The winegrower: The Bric Family.
Region: Vipava Valley, Slovenia.
Grape variety: Barbera.
Alc.: 13.5% vol.
Sweetness: Dry.
Vintage: 2018 – 2020.
Volume: 750 ml.

Vinification: 20 days of maceration in contact with the skins in a stainless steel container, and 24 months of maturing in oak barrels. Ageing potential: 2021 – 2027.

Characteristics:
The wine is deep purple in colour. It smells of cherries, dried plums with a light hint of wood. In the mouth the wine is dry, with high and lively acids and smooth silky tannins. Pleasant ripe wine, a little rough, with a slightly spicy finish.

Food pairings:
This Barbera pairs great wuth a medium rare steak or barbecue with grilled vegetables. It’s also goes well with hearty bolognese or risotto. Serving temperature: 16 – 18° C.
